What happens during a children’s haircut here
Every appointment starts with a friendly chat — with the parent and with the child. We ask what style they would like, look at their hair type and, if it is their first time, show them the chair and the tools so they feel at home from the very first minute.
From there, the cut follows the child’s pace. If they would like a short break, we take one; if they are curious, we explain what we are doing. A calm, welcoming atmosphere where the child feels comfortable and listened to is what works best, and it is exactly what we aim for.
Single-use capes and tools that are cleaned between every client are standard practice here. Two details that parents always appreciate.
Kids and teenagers: a cut they will love
Many children come in with an idea from a football player or an older sibling, and teenagers usually have a very clear picture of what they want. All ideas are welcome! Classic short back and sides, textured crops, soft fades or simply a trim to keep the length — we adapt the technique to each child’s hair.
With teenagers, their opinion matters most: we ask how they want to wear their hair, suggest what suits their hair type best and work together towards a look they feel good about. If a style will not work well with their hair texture, we talk it through before we start and suggest a great alternative.
How long does a kid’s haircut take?
We book around 30 minutes for each kids’ haircut — plenty of time to do it calmly. We finish when the cut looks right, not when the clock runs out.

A first haircut to remember
We want your child’s first visit to a barbershop to be a happy memory. Our barbers welcome every child with patience and good humour: we explain what we are going to do before we do it and check in as we go.
Parents are welcome to stay right next to the chair, hold a hand or bring a favourite toy — whatever makes your child feel most comfortable. Most children who come for the first time are happy to come back.
How often should kids get their hair cut?
For most short styles, every four to six weeks keeps things tidy; longer styles can easily stretch to eight weeks. At the end of each visit, the barber will tell you when to come back and how to manage the grow-out at home.

How to prepare your child for the visit
No special preparation is needed. If you like, tell them at home what will happen: the barber will comb and cut their hair with scissors and a clipper, it does not hurt, and they can say exactly how they like it.
Coming with clean, dry hair makes the cut quicker and more precise. And if your child has a photo of a style they love, bring it along — it helps us get it right from the start.

Do you cut teenagers’ hair?
Yes, with pleasure. We listen to how they want to wear their hair, advise them based on their hair type and do our best to achieve the style they are looking for.
Can I stay next to my child during the haircut?
Of course. Parents are welcome to stay as close as the child likes — especially on the first visits.
What if my child needs a break during the cut?
No problem at all. We pause, let them relax and carry on when they are ready. Their comfort always comes first.

Men’s Lab is at Carrer de Londres 67, in the Esquerra de l’Eixample, a few minutes on foot from Francesc Macià, Avinguda Diagonal and the Hospital Clínic. The nearest metro is Hospital Clínic (L5), and the tram and several bus lines stop at Francesc Macià.
